This forum has been hosting the NaKniSweMo Knit-A-Long for several years. The group boasts over a thousand members. That translates into lots of support for first time sweater knitters!
The goal of NaKniSweMo Knit-A-Long is to knit a sweater of 50,000 stitches during the month of November. November 1 is the great cast on and you must finish before midnight on November 30th. Be ready to cast on by picking out a pattern and swatching during October. In the photo are two patterns for classic men’s sweaters designed by Todd Gocken. Come by and check out the patterns. While there are thousands of sweater patterns on Ravelry, you might want to consider attending the class, Basics of Raglans and design your own sweater.
YarnStory is offering several classes during October that feature techniques used in sweater knitting. Check out the class schedule at: http://www.yarnstoryhawaii.com/-class-schedule.html
