Welcome to YarnStory, centrally located on South King Street in Honolulu!
Walk into YarnStory and find natural fibers for knitting and crochet in a variety of colors and weights. Maluhia Farm on the Big Island supplies us with natural roving and fleece (natural and dyed) for needle felting. YarnStory carries alpaca roving from the Big Island.
YarnStory carries cotton, silk, hemp, linen, wool and alpaca. You will also find numerous fiber blends. Need tools? You can find knitting needles (straight, dpn, circular) in bamboo, metal and wood. We carry Addi turbo lace needles in a variety of sizes. Crochet hooks are also available in the traditional metal, a soft touch handle and in wood. YarnStory carries the Knitters Pride interchangeable needles with their large option in cable lengths (16, 24, 32, 40, 47 and 60 inches) and three types of needle tips (Dreamz, Nova and Cubics). Also on the shelf are Knitter’s Pride Nova, Cubic and Karbonz double-pointed needles, Brittany single and double point and ChiaoGoo Bamboo and Red Lace circulars. The new interchangeable needles from ChiaoGoo have arrived and are worth checking out. The join between needle and cable on both the Spin (bamboo) and Twist (steel) sets is incredibly smooth.
Looking for yarn for a shawl? The Malabrigo lace colors are especially vibrant and the yarn is unbelievably soft. The Silkpaca lace from Malabrigo not only has the softness of alpaca but the added sheen and drape of silk. YarnStory carries a 100% cashmere fingering weight yarn (400 yds) hand dyed by Nadezhda’s Crayon Box. If you are looking for sock yarns check out Lorna’s Laces Solemate with Outlast, Wildfoote (great for bold bright colors) by Brown Sheep, Malabrigo Sock for beautiful colors in a soft merino and the wild colors of Zauberball Crazy and hand dyed sock yarn by Nadezhda's Crayon Box. YarnStory carries a wide selection of cotton in bold bright colors and a soft baby cotton in pastels. Perfect for summer knitting is Linen from Shibui knits and Hemp from Hemp for Knitting. Check out the SweetHeart Top (Lanaknits Designs) in Hempton and 100% AllHemp6.
